The project

How we approached it

The brief

Background

The International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) represents the companies behind liquid terminals: the facilities that store and move fuels, chemicals and other bulk liquids through global supply chains. Its members include terminal operators, equipment makers, service companies and industry specialists.

The website is where that community meets. It explains what ILTA does and why terminals matter, and it points visitors to membership, policy work, events and professional resources.

The problem

Challenge

People reach an association site wanting very different things. A company thinking about joining wants to know what membership gets them. An existing member wants to sign in or find a resource. Someone else in the industry is after an event date or a policy update.

The site had to make each of those routes easy to spot without breaking ILTA into a set of disconnected sections. Terminal operators and industry suppliers also join for different reasons, so membership could not be a single generic page.

Our approach

Solution

The homepage opens on terminal footage and one claim: ILTA is the leading advocate for the liquid terminal industry. Directly under the headline are two buttons, Join as a Terminal Operator and Join as an Industry Supplier, so each type of company finds its route straight away. Member Sign In sits apart from Join Now in the header, which keeps returning members out of the sales path.

Translucent cards over the hero carry the ILTA Conference & Trade Show, an introduction to the advocacy work, and the membership figures: 60+ terminal member companies and 400+ supplier member companies. Further down, the page explains how terminals handle energy products, chemicals and everyday materials, followed by member-network content and testimonials for visitors who are new to the sector.

The main menu groups the site into About, Advocacy, Membership, Events & Education, News & Partners and Contact Us. The look is navy and blue with white space, red for calls to action, large headings and photography from real terminals and industry events. On phones the menu folds away and the hero stacks vertically, with both membership buttons still above the fold.

Result

The site is live at ilta.org, with the same message and membership options on desktop and mobile.
